It was the best field trip I've been on.....EVER!! -a teacher from Camden Kindergarten
We would love to offer you the opportunity to bring your school
to our farm. We host school groups Monday through Friday from September 26-November 4 during our 2011 season.
We are just a short drive from anywhere in West Tennessee or West Kentucky. For your $5 admission fee you get:
to visit a local, working farm
enjoy a snack of free popcorn and a drink
experience fun and exciting lessons in science, history, agriculture, and play a game about adjectives
visit our petting zoo
walk (or run) through our corn and hay mazes
plant
a seed to take home with you
play on the
playground (we've added new play equipment this year)
make
your very own butter (with a container for each child to take home)
have lunch in the covered pavilion
take
a hay ride around the farm
AND pick out your very
own pumpkin from the patch!
We have several different
educational stations set up to not only teach your students, but to give them a "hands on" learning experience.
We have put together a curriculum that is fun and entertaining, but also educational and informative for students and adults
alike. Our stations are geared towards Pre-K through 4th grade students, but can be altered to fit any school group's needs.
This year we will be focusing on plants, cattle and horses specifically.
A few of the state standards that will be taught on the farm include:
food production and the life cycle of animals
history of the United States
ecosystems-wildlife
and forestry
structure and properties of matter-liquid
to solid
plants, soil, roots, and plant systems
adjectives
Please let us know if you have any questions or would like any more specific information about our farm. We
would love to see you and your school group this fall!
What a wonderful experience me and my class had at your farm.
It was a fun and informative day! Thank you! -A teacher from Mckenzie 1st grade
